As an intercessor, I am accustomed to being awakened by the Lord to pray during the fourth watch. But this morning was different. I was awakened, but my purpose was not to pray. Instead, the Lord was showing me something. I was being told to look and listen and see. It was dark…very dark still. But I knew it was only about an hour before the dawn of the new day. I lay still listening to the sounds. At first there was very little to hear. But with every passing minute, there was an increase in activity outside my windows. I could hear the birds beginning to stir and sing. Vehicles could be heard passing along the highway in front of my house with ever increasing frequency as the dawn neared. Ever so gradually, the eastern sky began to show the first grey light of the morning. It seemed that suddenly the full glory of the sunrise just burst upon the scene. It was a beautiful sight. With the glorious light, came the unveiling of all the activity that have been building in the darkness. The Lord would have you know today…
That though it is still very dark where you are, and it seems as if the dawn of a new day is so far off or maybe never coming, it is not so! You are about to witness the dawn of your new day! It is just about an hour before dawn! It is all much closer than you think. There is much that has been happening under the cover of the darkness that has been hidden from you. But with the light of the new day, the fullness of the Lord’s work on your behalf will be shine forth. So, fear not! You are close…very close…even in the final hour! Listen to hear the ever increasing frequency of activity heralding your new day. Look for and see the first rays of soft grey light announcing the dawn. And be ready, for the glorious sunrise of your new day will suddenly burst forth, unveiling all the treasures of darkness that the Lord has for you!
…..weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
3And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.
